Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey

Get a behind-the-scenes look at The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey's Pandemic Playhouse Entertainment.

We will be discussing the theatre's latest production of A Midsummer Night's Dream and how they are adapting and innovating during the pandemic.

The presentation will be hosted by CAA Arts Access Co-Chair, Daniel Mitura '09CC, who will be joined by Bonnie Monte, Artistic Director and Brian B. Crowe, Director, as well as members of the cast from the production.

Pandemic Playhouse Entertainment (PPE) is The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey's new initiative that brings high-quality live performances of theatrical classics to audiences on Vimeo.

PPE was partly inspired by the television shows Playhouse 90, Philco Playhouse and Masterpiece Playhouse from the late 1950s/early 1960s – all of which brought great scripts to life on a Hollywood sound stage, and then aired them for audiences across the nation.

Shakespeare Theatre will bring fully-rehearsed plays to life on the Main Stage of its F.M. Kirby Shakespeare Theatre, and then make them available for audiences to view at home.

This retro idea, with the modern twist of offering the plays online, will allow the theatre to continue bringing theatre to its audience.

This program is co-sponsored by the CAA Arts Access and the Columbia University Club of New Jersey.
