In the latest in the Columbia @ Home virtual event series, enjoy a recipe demo from Greg Rales ’12CC, founder of Red Gate Bakery in New York City.

Greg will make his famous Choco-Toffee Cookies, which he calls, “perhaps the most perfect update on an already perfect cookie.”

A Q&A session with attendees will follow.

If you plan to cook during the presentation, have these ingredients ready:

• 2 sticks unsalted butter
• 2 cups all-purpose flour
• 1 cup brown sugar
• 2/3 cup granulated sugar
• 2 eggs
• 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 1 teaspoon kosher salt
• 1/2 cup chopped toffee bar (Heath, Skor, Trader Joe’s, etc)
• 1 cup chopped bittersweet chocolate

About Greg Rales and Red Gate Bakery

Red Gate Bakery is an intimate bakeshop nestled in Manhattan’s East Village. Named after the idyllic Nantucket farm where Rales spent summers growing up, Red Gate was inspired by his fond memories baking in his swim trunks on warm afternoons.
