Every time you start talking to someone about the next big disruptor in technology, you predominantly hear about blockchain technology or cryptocurrencies.

There is no doubt that blockchain technologies will change business, money, and government, but there are still many unknowns regarding how pervasive it will be.

Will government regulation stifle innovation?

Is the ICO craze just a bubble, or is it the new way of raising money?

Will blockchain technologies solve our cybersecurity issues or at least radically reduce it?

In this talk you will be brought through the basics of blockchain and cryptocurrencies. There are many different flavors of blockchain, whether it is Ethereum, Hyperledger Fabric, Corda, or Private blockchains.

You may not walk away as a blockchain expert, but you will get a better idea why people like Marc Andreesen, the co-creator of the first commercial Web browser, Netscape, claims that virtually every programmer that has started to understand blockchain technology will say – “This is the big breakthrough. This is the thing we’ve been waiting for!”
